Pink October in Médoc Atlantique!

Every year, numerous initiatives are launched throughout the destination as part of October Rose, a month dedicated to raising awareness of the fight against breast cancer.
This year, the Office de Tourisme Médoc Atlantique has joined forces with the Institut Bergonié, Centre de Lutte Contre le Cancer de Nouvelle-Aquitaine (CLCC), to create a solidarity calendar for 2025.

Lacanau / Lacanau Océan

Spend your holidays in Lacanau and discover this friendly resort, nestled in the heart of the pine forest and on the edge of the beach. To recharge your batteries or to have fun, you can try surfing, Stand Up Paddle or wakeboarding and live like a fish in water between the ocean and the lake!

Once dry, enjoy the restaurants, bars, festivals and events, visits to the local heritage, go shopping and discover some delicacies that will satisfy your desires.

Soulac-sur-Mer

Go on holiday to Soulac-sur-Mer and you will find beaches as far as the eye can see, perfect for surfing, sports activities and swimming. For nature lovers, there are many outdoor activities between the forest of the moors, the ocean and the marshes.

Take the opportunity to stroll through this town with its remarkable heritage, where you will also find many shops and restaurants. Discover the thousand faces of Soulac-sur-Mer during a stay with family or friends.

Pointe de Grave / Le Verdon-sur-Mer

Let yourself be transported by the gentle atmosphere of Le Verdon-sur-Mer, a unique place where the ocean and the waters of the Gironde estuary mingle.

A multitude of activities are available in this town at the north of the Médoc. Leave from Port-Médoc to see the Cordouan lighthouse or visit the other lighthouses of this commune. Take the little train from the Pointe de Grave to Soulac-sur-Mer or walk along the beach to discover the bunkers, some of which are still buried.

Carcans / Maubuisson / Carcans Plage

Holidays in Carcans-Maubuisson inevitably rhyme with lake and ocean! Whether it's a gentle glide or a thrill, there are plenty of activities to choose from. Carcans-Maubuisson offers a varied program of activities all year round, with friends and family alike! You won't have time to get bored, it's time to enjoy!

Talais

Talais is a small, typically village of the Médoc area, close to the ocean beaches and the Gironde estuary. Its old oyster port with its little white and blue huts offers an unexpected and picturesque setting in the heart of the marshes for a gourmet break away from the hustle and bustle of summer.

Hourtin / Hourtin Plage

Go on a family holiday to Hourtin. Discover and enjoy the largest freshwater lake in France and its many activities: stand up paddle, pedal boats, sailing, kitesurfing, boat trips... For surfing enthusiasts, Hourtin Plage is made for you. It’s a real surfers' village where you will feel “at the end of the world” in an iodized atmosphere and where you will be living at the rhythm of the Atlantic Ocean.

Grayan-et-l'Hôpital / Le Gurp

Beach, forest and nature, that's a good summary of what awaits you in Grayan-et-l'Hôpital. But it is also a stopover on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela with its chapel, nestled in the middle of the countryside. Indeed, beautiful walks are waiting for you. It is in Grayan that you will find the largest naturist center in Europe: Euronat. In summer, there are many activities for young and old.

Saint-Vivien-de-Médoc

Saint-Vivien-de-Médoc is a typical village on the banks of the Gironde estuary where you can discover a real friendly atmosphere. Its rural environment, conducive to calm and idleness, offers beautiful walks to discover.

Jau-Dignac-et-Loirac

With its charm of yesteryear, the village of Jau-Dignac-et-Loirac will transport you through fields and vineyards, in order to discover a rich heritage, made up of wine estates, vineyards, small ports, a lighthouse and dozens of “carrelets” (small fishermen houses).

Valeyrac

Ancient Gallo-Roman site known for its oyster farming, Valeyrac is a charming little village on the edge of the estuary. You will be able to stroll among the traditional fishermen's huts at its small port, the Port de Goulée.

It is also the entrance to the Médoc vineyards and its famous wine route “La Route des Vins de Bordeaux”.

Vensac

Located in the heart of the Médoc Atlantique, Vensac is a charming little village to discover. Vensac is an unspoilt natural area offering beautiful walks between forests and wild dunes. Enjoy family time by visiting the Vensac mill and take advantage of the night market to discover the delicacies of the Médoc.

Queyrac

Queyrac is a typical village of the Médoc area where it is peaceful to spend a simple moment out of time.

You will discover hiking trails in the heart of the marshes, cross the first vineyards and enjoy convivial events, near the communal lake for example.

Naujac-sur-Mer / Le Pin Sec

A wild place known for its surf spot "Le Pin Sec", Naujac-sur-Mer is a commune of the Médoc coast in the heart of the Landes de Gascogne pine forest and only 10 kilometers from the Atlantic Ocean.  It is the only one of its kind on this part of the coast and offers a restful, quiet setting in contact with nature.

Cordouan Lighthouse

The Cordouan lighthouse is the only French lighthouse at sea that is still manned, the oldest still in operation and the only one in the world open to visitors. This lighthouse is a must-see in Médoc Atlantique and has been listed a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2021. An absolutely unique site, it offers an exceptional view of the Gironde and the Medoc coastline.
