Discover the commune of Jau Dignac et Loirac, a former island in the Gironde estuary.
This route takes you through the three ancient and typical parishes of Jau Dignac and Loirac, passing through meadows, gravelly vineyards and forests.
A variety of landscapes will accompany you along the way, and you'll appreciate the calm that reigns in this commune.
There is no difficulty and no change in altitude.
Please note that these routes are shared with pedestrians. Be careful, as some sections of these trails are narrow and in poor condition.

From the car park in place de l'église, head east along rue de la mairie, turning right at the end. Walk past the municipal stadium and then cross the road, past the Mouret fountain (basin - former wash-house), round the vineyard to the right and follow the path along the ditch.
Plus de détailsGo round the vineyard to the right and follow the path. When you reach the tarmac road, turn left onto the Chemin de Bellot. Cross the hamlet of Boussan on the covered wash-house path.
Plus de détailsAt the Boussan cross, go straight ahead, turn left at the end of the path after the Château de Segue Longue Monnier and then go round the Château Saint-Aubin on the left.
Plus de détailsPass through the village of Dignac, skirting the old church-cemetery square, then turn left onto the Chemin du Perey. Follow the road through the Semensan meadows, then at the end turn left onto the Chemin de la Brasserie towards the village of Jau. Walk along the old church-cemetery square (cross).
Plus de détailsCross the D103 and take the Chemin du Broustera opposite (signposted Noaillac-Broustera). At the fork, take the left-hand branch. Cross the D103E1, continue straight ahead then turn left onto chemin de Laulan. Follow the road straight ahead and drive alongside Château Loirac with its dovecote in the heart of the vineyards. At the next stop sign, turn right towards Jau-Dignac-et-Loirac, then go through the village of Loirac (old church-cemetery square, cross). Follow the D103E3 until you pass the stadium, then take the chemin de la mairie on your left to return to the church car park.
