Les Chais de la Bécasse

"It is the passion for this long-beaked bird that is at the origin of the name of the Chais de la Bécasse. From 1965 to 2011, it was under the name of Château la Bécasse that this winery appeared in the list of Pauillac wine estates.

In 2011, the death of my father Georges Fonteneau forced me to sell the vineyard. Since 2014, having managed to keep my cellars, production has resumed with the marketing of a new A.O.P. Listrac-Médoc under the name of La Bécasse. The visit includes the vat room, the barrel cellar and the technical bottling rooms with all the explanations on the vinification and the maturing of the wine".
