Sentier des Rousserolles – Réserve Naturelle de Hourtin

For an hour's effortless walk in the summer heat of the Réserve Naturelle des Dunes et Marais d'Hourtin, opt for the shady Rousserolles path. This path, sheltered by maritime pines, pedunculate oaks and holm oaks, offers a pleasant natural coolness. The viewpoint at Pointe du Gaouléou is a must, offering a 360° panoramic view of the lake. There is also an interpretation table detailing the local flora and fauna. The reedbed on the edge of the lake, a haven for many species including fish, dragonflies and passerines, will captivate your attention. If you're lucky, you might even spot the red warbler or traces of otters. In July, flower lovers can admire the Dortmann's Lobelia. The trail is signposted and marked in blue. In winter, boots are recommended, as the point can be flooded. From the Club de Voile car park, start your exploration in peace.
