One runs, the other pedals, all together and to the finish! The HourCancilloise is a 57 km endurance race in pairs around the Carcans-Maubuisson lake in the Médoc. It's all about mutual aid and camaraderie: runners and cyclists never lose sight of each other, and share the road together. It's an opportunity to have a good laugh with friends, to motivate each other as lovers, or why not take on a father-daughter challenge! In the opinion of participants in the first editions, the pleasure of physically surpassing oneself is doubled...
See moreJust imagine... Starting out from Maubuisson, the tranquility of Lac d'Hourtin-Carcans - France's largest freshwater lake - is like an open-air movie set. All around, birds sing, pine trees give the wind an incomparable fragrance, and the gentle lapping of the water almost makes you forget that your competitors are on your wheels and sneakers! A detour along the ocean coast will refresh your lungs with iodine, before returning to the lake via the Réserve naturelle des Dunes et Marais d'Hourtins. What a paradise...
The HourCancilloise course is technical enough to challenge yourself, fast enough to set good times, and sublime enough to feast your eyes on. Great athletes and more contemplative nature-addicts all have the opportunity to enjoy themselves!
IF you're unsure of your level, a 20 km HourCancilloise light course allows a wider public to enjoy this unique bike & run experience around the lake. And the 11km superlight course is accessible to cyclists aged 14 and over.
All along the route, volunteers guide and motivate participants to ensure that the race remains a pleasure, and relay points allow everyone to wait for each other.
